I am also having this issue with wordpress 2.6.2.  No other plugins are installed.  This was the first plugin I tried to activate on a brand new blog.

I have the same issue, to solve it I runned the SQL to create the table in phpMyAdmin by myself, I have an open ticket about this right now. The script to create the table is in a php code, I dont remember where exactly, but, is not working....

Thanks for the reply....   According to my web host support, we need the wp_autoblogged file that is not included in the download. 

The reply that I got from the support staff here was "Try deactivating then reactivating the plugin."  Well, I followed their directions and I kept getting the same error message.

I few more support ticket requests later and customer service still has not replied or helped.

This issue has been fixed (who put that extra quote mark in there!) with the latest update (v2.3.372). You can get it from the original download link you received from e-junkie. We have responded to all open tickets on this issue. Sorry for the trouble and for the delays in responding.
