This site uses Autoblogged along with a modified version of the Press75 "On Demand" theme. This is a niche site dedicated to lead generation offers from various pharmaceutical class action lawsuits. The site uses Autoblogged to track both video and text for 17 different medicines in class action status, and then parses the feeds to remove unrelated material from the site (the medicine "yasmin" also tends to pull up lots of women's names, for example). This site also makes heavy use of the custom fields capability in Autoblogged. All the ads on the site are run from a stand-alone OpenX banner ad system. Using a series of custom fields across all the feeds, specific ads are displayed next to content related to the ad.   For example, notice the large banner ad below the black video bar on this page: http://fdawarning.org/featured/2009/04/fda-recalls-heparin. The system recognizes that the video is related to "heparin", and displays a large heparin banner directly below the video. The "Vaccines" section does not have a similar size ad below the video. This page uses the same Wordpress template pages as the Heparin page, but since no ad match was made on "vaccines" nothing appears: http://fdawarning.org/featured/2009/04/many-common-vaccines-cause-serious-injury. By including sets of custom field variables in the Autoblogged feed manager, all content found on each of the dozens of feeds used to build this site have unique advertisement attributes and I can modify any ad size/placement/advertiser/etc across all current and future posts on the site in a single pass.   Also, the site is optimized to push "real" visitors toward the video content, while still making a much larger set of keyword-targeted, text-based content available to spiders crawling the site. My entry for the AutoBlogged contest is www.increasegasmileageblog.com I tried five other "allegedly" auto-blogging WordPress plugins before I tried AutoBlogged. This was hands down the most out-of-the-box, user friendly plugin I have used.It was a breeze to setup and worked immediately without any frustrations. I use AutoBlogged to pull in certain keywords from one of my Amazon Affiliate accounts. This not only creates the posts for me but it also saves the images and thumbnails for me so I can avoid doing more work than is absolutely necessary. AutoBlogged has helped me to leverage my time more wisely, increase my SEO due to the increase of posted content and offer a more diverse selection of affiliate offerings to my loyal readers. I have also used AutoBlogged to grab Google News articles that wil help people save money by increasing their gas mileage. This feaure saves me from having to manually enter each article one by one. What a time saver! I see many options available to me in the near future as I open my mind to the possibilities that AutoBlogged offers me.   The proof is in the pudding... I had 48 Twitter followers before AutoBlogged and now I have an organic 528. I had 3-5 visitors/day before AutoBlogged and now I have an average of 150. I was generating no revenue on this blog before AutoBlogged and now I have a small (but growing) steady passive income stream. The site began as an experiment in artist promotion. Equine art is a small but fiercely competitive niche. There are many talented artists, and far too few collectors. In a crowded field like this, it's extremely difficult for an individual to land a spot on a first page of search results when they're mostly populated by art organizations and companies. I felt that by joining forces we could rise to the top of the most popular keyword searches. I also envisioned a site constantly updated with new content that would gather a loyal daily readership, the sort of thing you sit down with in the morning with your first cup of coffee. In January of 2008 - with their full cooperation - I started gathering feeds from artist friends. They allow me to use full posts, rather than excerpts, for easy reading. Every post includes a link back to the original and a plug for the artist's personal website, as well as a directory of artist sites. In the beginning I used a popular free Wordpress plugin to pull in the feeds, but was plagued by duplicate posts - sometimes as many as 4,500 overnight! The most exciting thing about EquineArtist was something totally unexpected: Once we had gathered a few hundred posts, the site started to transform into a rich searchable resource about equine art. I traveled a long and dangerous road before I ended up finding auto blogged. First I built my site by hand and the real issue then was there were not enough hours in the day to possibly find and write about 50 different topics of renewable energy, and also travel and cover renewable energy shows, AND interview people on camera, AND edit video, AND !@%#$...... So the need was clear i needed a way for my site to populate itself, with news on all different topics, so that i could focus on the custom live reporting on the events i covered personally.   At first there was feedwordpress, It was not too bad but the main problems i encountered were duplicate content in my DB on occasion and the fact that i had to use things like yahoo pipes to do my aggregations and search then have webcron ping the script every so often, and hope all the moving parts worked perfectly, if not then i might wake up one morning to find 10,000 of the same articles on my front page, or the most terrible white screen of death with some cryptic code about the DB....what followed on multiple occasions was complete re-install and loss of all content to my last backup.... There had to be a better way...   Next on the dark and scary road cam wp-o-matic, it seemed to sold some issues but was more of a problem with duplicate content, and for some unexplained reason would not read Google news feeds as xml, again forcing me to hunt all over creation for feeds etc...After multiple 10,000 message days and crashes, i knew........ There had to be a better way... At first i was a skeptic, i saw the carefully crafted sales pages for auto blogged, the multitude of affiliates, but I need a solution so so went ahead and sprung for a 1 server license, "I figured what the heck its only 59.99" Man I really cannot tell you how my world has brightened after that day, once i got it installed, i immediately started setting up and testing some feeds, what used to take lots of quirky template editing and such is now done in a matter of minutes. I can literally think of a new topic for my blog that i would like to cover, create a category, create a new feed and in 10 minutes have real live content on topic from over the web for my readers.   Today I have almost 3oo followers on twitter, with 4800 posts thanks to auto blogged http://www.twitter.com/mattgoesgreen I have 200 registered users who have received collectively over 10,000 emailed articles and summaries from my site via site press, many of the daily items are generated by auto blogged and become co-mingled with my own postings on the dozens of  newsletters. http://www.mattgoesgreen.com I feed my A/V content out to the world via podpress on itunes  and several other podcast networks, and I feed my content out via rss both directly from the site, and from Google feeds.   My traffic has gone from 5-10 visitors per day last year to a constant 500-600 with higher spikes per day and climbing now.   My adsense revenue has taken off with that increase in traffic. It has not made me rich yet but my site is now overall a profitable undertaking, and yes that includes, hosting, development, and of course my purchase of auto blogged, those are all paid for and I am making a profit now.   I have not had a single problem with auto blogged and I’m up to 50 categories and over 14k articles, it just keeps humming along.   Thanks Autoblogged This Texan can now go Green without going Insane!   -Matthew Trachtenberg   2009-04-27T22:12:08-06:00

my site is called twit140.com    it takes the 140 character stories written on twitter and adds them to the blog, this allows people to read the stories in one place and also read them by author within each category.      once 10 authors have added their rss I will create a iphone app for free of the best ones a couple of times a year. once I understand the coding better for getting twitter stuff I would like to have 140 authors within the site all with their own category. This is a great product and lends itself to helping people create 100's of blog based on subjects within twitter, I hope more twitter-centric features will be added to it. Luckily, Autoblogged had just been created as a plugin for wordpress and I decided to give it a try. It worked terrificly and the guys/gals here even took requests into consideration. I now have Autoblogged populating all my columns, allowing me to maintain a VERY updated site and spend time on other aspects of the site.
